Plate Steel Construction
Crawler™ series bumpers are fabricated from 3/16" plate steel, CNC laser-cut and precision brake-formed into a low profile, high clearance design. The ends of the bumper extend far enough to protect the lower corner of the JK grille, but not far enough to hinder tire clearance or tire access to vertical obstacles.
Winch Compatibility
The Crawler's top-mounted, integrated winch mount is part of the fully boxed, internally gusseted bumper shell. This bumper is designed to accept most Warn and other brand winches that use the popular 10" X 4½" mounting pattern, with a few small exceptions. Mounting Warn ZEON series winches require our Zeon Winch Spacer Plates.
Brawler Bar
The Brawler Bar is modeled after the bar found on our original RockBrawler™ front bumper. It is a low-profile stinger designed to provide protection to the winch, grille and radiator area. The Brawler Bar is made of CNC laser-notched, NC-bent 1¾" diameter .120" wall DOM tubing. The complex laser-cut notch allows the Brawler Bar to be welded to multiple planes on the surface of the bumper, providing incredible strength. The Brawler Bar is supported by a pair of beefy gussets, CNC laser cut from 1/4" thick plate steel.
Optional Front Skid Available
The Crawler™ Front Bumper is installed without cutting or altering the Jeep's frame rails. The faceted design provides the best ground clearance and approach angle possible in a bumper that doesn't require frame modifications. The factory "Crash Bar" requires minor trimming, but may be left otherwise intact or removed for a sleek appearance and high clearance. If keeping the crash bar, we recommend adding the JK Crawler™ Front Skid(sold separately), which conceals the crash bar and protects the electronic sway bar disconnect. The skid is sold as a separate piece for those who would prefer to cut away the crash bar and run without the skid, in favor of increased clearance on the trail.
Recessed Fog Lamp Mounts
The Crawler™ Front Bumper comes with built-in, recessed fog lamp mounts that are designed to easily accept your stock fog lamps. And these aren't just simple light tabs placed behind a hole in the bumper—they are recessed in a "bucket" made of a full tubular section to encircle the lamp and keep light from annyoingly leaking behind and around the bumper. Adding further convenience are mounting holes for re-installing the harness retainer clips for the factory wiring, to keep the wiring neatly secured. If you'd like a lot more power than the factory fog lamps provide, you can opt to install a set of Rigid Industries Dually or D2 Dually LED lamps using our JK Fog Light Mounts for Rigid Industries Dually/D2.
IMPORTANT: The stock fog lamps used on the Jeep Wrangler 10th Anniversary Rubicon do NOT fit into the fog lamp buckets on this bumper. If installing this bumper on a 10th Anniversary Rubicon, we suggest using a pair of Rigid Industries Dually or Dually D2 LED lamps along with our JK Dually Fog Lamp Mounts instead of the stock fog lamps.
Extreme Duty Recovery Shackle Tabs
These Extreme Duty Recovery Shackle Tabs are CNC machined from 1" thick steel billet, and pass through the shell of the bumper and are welded on both sides. These tabs are specifically designed to accept Poison Spyder's Heavy Duty 3/4" Recovery Shackles. These tabs are designed to match the high clearance aspects of the rest of the bumper and minimized hang-ups.
SpyderShell™ Armor Coat
SpyderShell™ is more than just powder coating—it's a complete system that includes the state of the art in preparation, application, materials and packaging to ensure that your SpyderShell™ products stay looking great for years. The SpyderShell™ process has been engineered to provide your Poison Spyder product with years of unmatched great looks, corrosion protection and weather-resistance. Our proprietary 6-stage system starts with media blasting the entire part, to remove contaminents and prep the metal surface for the best possible adhesion. Next, any seams are sealed with 3M Scotch-Weld to block moisture from entering and causing corrosion where the powder can not reach. The first coat to be applied is a zinc-rich powdered black primer, which is baked on to form an impenetrable bond between the metal product and the coating. The primer is black--rather than traditional gray--so that any rock chips or trail damage are less conspicuous. The final top coat is an industrial grade, "super-durable" architectural finish in semi-gloss black, which is engineered to retain its appearance through years of exposure to sun and weather. SpyderShell is a coating process unmatched by any other Jeep armor aftermarket manufacturer, for which we are confident in offering a 5-year warranty on materials and workmanship.
